Xie, Zhengmao is a assistant research fellow in the Department of Computer Science and technology, School of EECS. He obtained his B.Sc. from Peking University in 2000, and a master degree also from Peking University in 2003. His research interests include web search engine, and data mining.
Xie has published a few research papers on web search engine and its infrastructure.

Xie was one of the major contributors to Chinese first-generation search engine “Tianwang”, which achieved an incremental Chinese Web pages collection and had the ability to collect 30 million web pages daily. In the development of a Web Archive System “Web-Infomall”, Xie played an important role. The system collected and stored 9 billion web pages in China from 2002. Its related project, "YanQiong massive network information collection, organization and service platform" , Won the second prize of Beijing Science and Technology.
